Who wouldn´t like to be a millionaire by winning the lottery? We would have all our problems solved and reach automatic success. Even though people usually like and dream about the easy way to success, I believe that people truly succeed thanks to hard work.

The important thing is not the final outcome of success, but the process that leads to it, which helps to develop important skills that lead to permanent success. This opposes to the belief that luck is an important variable to success, because success comes with perseverance, improvement and the value of accomplishments.

Hard work comes with perseverance, because is necessary to be really disciplined and have a lot of energy and good mentality to not give up in failure. To be able to overcome failure is what creates real success, for example if we see what happened to Steve Jobs who dropped out of college, which can be considered failure, to start his own business and become a really successful entrepreneur.

Hard work also allows us to improve until success is accomplished, which is a very important difference with luck. Luck can give you success now but is unlikely to repeat again, so you don´t depend on yourself to accomplish success. Improvement leaves us in a state where success depends on us. For example, you don´t get a college degree because of luck, you require hard work in order to learn and improve your knowledge over the years.

With hard work you follow a path of development that makes success more valuable, because of all the difficulties you had to overcome and the improvements you had to make. Success comes with the satisfaction of knowing that you can accomplish amazing stuff. This is what happens with people who run marathons, no untrained person can complete the 42 kilometers just with luck. Only hard work makes them run step by step until the finish line.

In conclusion I don´t believe in luck, I just believe that accomplishments and success come with hard work because it allows you to live your success through perseverance, improvement and the value of the process. Achievements are not about the outcome, but about the process and experiences.
